How this is calculated: We use a Growth Decay Model: starting with analyst consensus growth (adjusted above) and gradually slowing it down to a long-term terminal rate (4%) by Year 5. This provides a more realistic valuation than assuming constant hyper-growth. We then apply a 16.7x Exit PE.
Valuation Analysis: TU is currently trading at $8.83, which is considered extended relative to its 30-day fair value range of $8.01 to $8.77. The stock's valuation (Forward PE: 16.5) is in line with its historical norms (16.7). Remarkably, the market is currently pricing in an annual earnings decline of 0.4% over the next few years. This aligns with recent fundamental challenges.
Technical Outlook: Technically, TU is in a strong downtrend. The price is approaching resistance at $8.94. A breakout above this level would be a bullish signal, while rejection here could lead to consolidation.
Market Sentiment: TU scores 15/100 on our bottoming-setup gauge. Note this measures entry quality, not trend direction — a low score can mean the chart is extended after a strong run (don't chase) or still falling without stabilization; better entries typically come after a pullback toward the 20-day average. Wall Street analysts see significant upside, with an average price target of $10.00 (+13.3%). Current signals suggest waiting for a better entry point before initiating new positions.

Telus is one of the Big Three wireless service providers in Canada, with over 10 million mobile phone subscribers nationwide constituting almost 30% of the total market. It is the incumbent local exchange carrier in the western Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, where it provides internet, television, and landline phone services. It also has a small wireline presence in eastern Quebec. Mostly because of recent acquisitions, more than 20% of Telus' sales now come from nontelecom businesses, most notably in the international business services, health, security, and agriculture industries. The firm has a 55% economic stake in Telus International.
